Listening to talk radio this afternoon.

The host and the guest are both progressive conservatives IOW CINOs. As they prattled on about the state of conservatism in Canada and the world I had a wry smile. They loved the doormat conservatism of Reagan and Bush but decried the stand up conservatism of Trump. As they prattled on I thought there are three brands of liberalism. Extreme liberals like AOC and the Squad, middling conservatives like Biden and Pelosi and moderate liberals like Romney and Graham. Then there are the MAGA conservatives like Trump and his followers. No the Trump fans are not nazis.

No, the majority of democrats/ liberals are not Communists/Marxists, they are middle-class, working-class men and women who want their children to have a better life than what they had.

@softspokenman most people have no idea what their ideology is and think that because they believe it for no reason other than that is what they were told they think it is normal. The whole of society has moved very sharply left in the last 50 years. A carefully crafted move on the part of the powers that be. America has become the communists/nazis they railed against in the 40s and 60s. (nazi and communists are both leftist ideologies)

@softspokenman State control. Both ideologies are natural extensions of the old Roman idea of the worship of Caesar. The state is the god of the people and thus the state dolls out the needs of the people whether it is bread and circuses or health care or the central planned economy.

@softspokenman Get real. The dem and repubs are two sides of the same coin. They are up to their elbows in corruption and evil. Trump stands for a better America. I can't disagree with him on that point. I don't worship him since his time on the stage is extremely limited. Everyone adores Reagan who did nothing to halt the slide of the US into the nazi state we observe today. Hell the US can't even run a presidential election. Look at the clown who is in the white house now. He was not elected.

When I was a teenager, I visited, toured, Plymouth Plantation. A form of communism kept them alive throughout the winter. I visited Jamestown and Williamsburg VA, visited all the monuments in Washington DC, visited Arlington National Cemetery and saw the white crosses, JFK's burial site with the eternal flame, the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the unknown soldier. You have to be there, see it with your own eyes, to understand and feel what it means. Trump might ask "what was in it for them?" DEMOCRACY, what he attempted a coup to destroy because his insatiable, fragile, ego couldn't accept the fact that he actually lost the election.

I consider "Trump fans" being those who justify and condone the storming of the Capitol Building.
So I am not off topic.
