But is the US government really letting China buy farmland near a base? Or is it in the process of being reviewed? And did the government sell the land or did the land owner sell it? Right now China, which is like any other foreign investor, owns something like 0.1 percent of U.S. ag land. The plant they're proposing will be run by Americans with American employees.
Personally, I'm against foreign land investors. And that includes real estate. But what this issue is about is fearmongering by Republicans. It's ironic considering how Republicans have, for years, pushed overseas manufacturing. This is about creating an enemy to distract in my opinion.
