So I figured I would look into Liz Truss. Seems with the new king and with the new PM the UK is in for "interesting times".

King Charles seems to be rather progressively minded about several issues but Liz Truss and co might as well be called the "Make Britain an empire again" party. Their writings like Britannia Unchained seems like a very unambiguous manifesto for restoring Britain to it's former glory but under the Tories instead of the crown and swapping traditional colonial economy for very American style right wing economic theory.

Yikes.

She'll give even more power to corporations. More corporate greed, just what Britan needs.
@Pitchblue And the part most people forget is nearly all of the British Empire started as corporate ventures. The crown only took over when running entire nations became too much for companies.

Canada was owned by HBC and the USA the British East India corporation.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I didn't learn that in school.
@Pitchblue Yep. Most of the large colonial projects were corporate ventures. The ones that weren't were small fry like Ireland or Scotland.
@Pitchblue If you are curious to know a bit more about the subject look up British Joint Stock companies.

Many of these companies even had their own militaries.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow It's heading in that direction again.
@Pitchblue Agreed. Alot of our countries functionally answer to massive corporations all over again.
