After Catching ‘Peeping Tom’ Outside Daughter’s Window, Father Epically Executes His 2nd Amendment Right

A Texas man who confronted a peeping Tom outside his daughter’s bedroom window this week told police he fired his gun after the voyeur lunged at him with a knife.

The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex in northwestern San Antonio.

According to KENS-TV, the daughter spotted the unknown man through her window and ran to tell her father.

The father stepped outside to confront the stranger, who produced a knife and lunged at him.

The dad told police he pulled out his handgun and fired several times, according to the report.

San Antonio police told KENS that they did not find anyone with gunshot wounds.

An aerial search by the police department’s Blue Eagle helicopter unit did not locate anyone.

San Antonio police told the local news outlet that the father is not expected to be charged.

WOAI reported that police were still investigating the incident.

The assailant was described as a bearded man in his 30s.

So the 2nd Amendment now guarantees not just a right to bear firearms, but also to fire them?

Is that absolute and not subject to infringement as well?

Btw, I'm not arguing with what the father did here. It just scares the bejeezus out of me that his rights are absolute compared to the rights of whomever he shoots.

Um... the shooter's right to shoot someone are NOT absolute, Misty.
You're not thinking things through again...

@Thinkerbell Aww, thanks for the meme.

So where is this non absolute right to shoot found in the Second Amendment if it's not in the text?

@MistyCee

Any number of court cases have settled the matter.

Deliberately shooting someone to death when it doesn't involve self-defense is called murder. 🙄

@Thinkerbell good limerick. Accurate

@Thinkerbell He'll have to prove perp had a knife in most states but maybe not TX. But if there's no knife and the body wasn't under the window he's fucked.

Even if convicted this will never be more than manslaughter

@Slade

Well, if there's no body, then it isn't even manslaughter.

The father may have missed (maybe deliberately?), and just scared the peeping Tom away.
@Thinkerbell I'm glad to hear that that's still the case.

@MistyCee it has nothing to do with firing them you kook

Good. We're making progress.

There are other Constitutional rights whose exercise is not absolute.
Freedom of religion does not include a right to mutilate female genitals, for example.
Freedom of speech does not include a right to incite murder or riot, for example.

And freedom to keep and bear arms does not include a right to shoot someone because he "looks suspicious."

Where and how these freedoms are are limited were (and continue to be) decided in the judicial system.
@Slade Is that the difference between exercising a right and "epically executing" it?
