Encouraging Illegal Immigration As A Political Tool

Two chartered planes, full of illegal immigrants arrived, unannounced, to Martha's Vineyard, unloaded and left.

The migrants said they were sent from Florida and he communications director for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the two flights were part of a state program to relocate undocumented immigrants.

The migrants said that prior to boarding the flights, they were told they would be getting houses, schooling, jobs and healthcare. if they agree to get on the flights.

This is weird, because Ron DeSantis has been claiming that democrats are encouraging illegal immigration, by promising housing, schools, job and healthcare to illegal immigrants, for political gain.

MAGAs will watch Tucker and believe what he tells them. Reality, however, is quite different.

The flights originated in Texas, showing coordination between dumb and dumber, in their attempt to gain political momentum.

Republican hatred of immigrants knows no bounds. To use people as political pawns is despicable. In other words, standard Republican fare to appeal to their racist base.

most of the asylum claims have been denied

And??

This is why the wall and the remain in Mexico policy were so effective.

🤣 😂

The claimants whose asylum claims were denied never set foot in the United States.

The law changed. Deal with it. I thought you were all about law and order. Make up your mind.

These people coming across illegally had a choice.

The law says they can apply for political asylum once they set foot on US soil. I love the GOP hypocrisy: One set of rules for Cubans and another set for everyone else. Now there's a set of rules for everyone else, similar to what you GOP'ers love to hand to Cubans. One you set foot on US soil, regardless of how you got here, you can apply for legal status. Or is that something DeSantis would like to avoid discussing?

They could have applied for immigration like 100's of thousands who came before them.

Spoken like someone without a clue of how our immigration system works.

They CHOSE to break the laws.

And even less about the law.

@Northwest the Ashlyn rules changed for those crossing the southern border. The remain in Mexico policy helped vet those asylum claims.

Setting foot on us soil isn't an absolute either plenty of Cubans have been returned to Cuba.

Excuses excuses. I thought you were all torn up because laws are broken. They are not. You're arguing your one-sided conclusions, that the laws are wrong, but your partisanship, or other reasons (see Tucker) is blinding you to facts.

Setting foot on us soil isn't an absolute either plenty of Cubans have been returned to Cuba.

Oh, so you're aware of the Cuban issue? Why aren't you torn up about it?

This is another example of Republican depravity and moral bankruptcy.

They were not illegal immigrants. They were assylum seekers who were fleeing political violence.

And in America the policy is that they must come here in order to seek assylum. They cannot seek assylum from elsewhere.

How is that not human trafficking?
Northwest · M
@WalksWith It is.
@WalksWith A very good question !
Northwest · M
@bijouxbroussard It is absolutely human trafficking. These people were lied to, and put on a plane, and shipped elsewhere on a false pretense.

About time states started putting embargos on flights from Texas that fit a certain profile.
Accepting human rights, including freedom of movement is harder for fascists.

How low are politicians and society going?

This is old news. We are all immigrants. We are all used for money.
The only original people in the US are the indigenous. Not you. ☺️

Remember when Trump threatened to do the same thing to California ? It was pointed out that once the people were brought in, they were under no obligation to stay in California and had been given carte blanche—by the GOP—to settle in whatever part of the country they chose, including red states. I guess DeSantis learned nothing.
