Americans: Think Carefully when you go to the Polls in November

One month ago, the FBI searched Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate after he refused to turn over more than 300 classified documents, including nuclear secrets, in potential violation of the Espionage Act.

And two weeks ago we learned exactly why that raid occurred. the affidavit reads: "Based upon the following facts, there is probable cause to believe that the locations to be searched at the PREMISES contain evidence, contraband, fruits of crime, or other items illegally possessed in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 793(e), 1519, or 2071." In a court filing, the Justice Department also confirmed that they had video evidence that documents had been "concealed and removed" by Trump's team in an apparent attempt to thwart the ongoing investigation.

The same week the raid occurred, Trump pleaded the Fifth Amendment 440 times during a deposition with the New York attorney general over allegations of fraudulent business practices and tax evasion.

So how is all this playing with Republicans? Turns out, Donald Trump is now more popular with the GOP base than ever.
Since the Mar-a-Lago raid, Republican candidates and officeholders have fallen all over themselves racing to the cameras to attack the FBI and repeat Trump's lies. The few Republicans with the integrity to stand up to Trump have been almost entirely drummed out of the party. The truth is that the Republican Party has become nothing more than a neofascist authoritarian cult. They don't believe in anything except loyalty to Donald Trump. And they cannot be allowed back in power.

Vote in the November Election. Our democracy is at stake.

Trump Having 48 Empty 'Classified' Folders at Mar-a-Lago.
empty being no file found in the folders.. what did he do with them.. just a thought.
@markansas Ask the archives people. Ask whatever agencies were supposed to assure NO Classified/ Top secret documents were removed by Trump when he left the White House.

@soar2newhighs wow! so t bears no responsibility for the documents leaving the White House and ending up in his home?
@tindrummer Well we’re a nation supposedly dedicated to protecting such information. Someone fucked up!
@soar2newhighs And that someone has the initials D.J.T.!!!

tindrummer · M
@soar2newhighs yep and sounds like you want to shift responsibility from t to anyone possible -
is there anything he's ever done that you don't approve of?
[@tindrummerStop being someone who has disdain for Trump, for a moment and realize your current administration is not nor has it been the model of what you want it to be.
@soar2newhighs Classic straw man fallacy, with tinges of whataboutism and goalpost moving!

@ElwoodBlues You disagree, so be it, but I’m sure you know all and have the answers. No you’re another poster of no consequence.
tindrummer · M
@soar2newhighs what does that have to do with what we're talking about - why don't you address that and answer the question?
@tindrummer anybotoof or indictment? When that happens jump for joy.
tindrummer · M
@soar2newhighs thought so - bye
@tindrummer yeah, bye.
@soar2newhighs
You disagree, so be it,
No, what I'm saying is that in a conversation about responsibility for empty "classified" folders and missing gov't secret documents, the "what about Biden" tactic has no place.

Biden may be an ax murderer, but that has no bearing on whether we should hold Trump responsible for apparent violations of the Espionage Act and Presidential Records Act.

@ElwoodBlues exactly

@MarmeeMarch who exactly were those "owners" IN the White House who were supposed to tell the president/CIC to stop breaking the law?
@MarmeeMarch In this case, it's more like the manager of the store - who took a solemn oath to uphold the law - walking out with the wristwatch. He's been entrusted with great power. Along with that comes great responsibility. The manager of the store who stole from the store bears the blame for his theft and for his violation of the trust place in him.

@MarmeeMarch already answered your question - we're done here

@soar2newhighs Actually as president he can declassify any documents he wants to. Its part of his job - any President actually.
@TallMtnMedic Yeah, but there's a process. Do you honestly believe he declassified thousands of pages and neglected to tell anyone about it?

Regardless, the Mar a Lago search warrant mentioned possible violations of two laws that classification status is irrelevant to. They were looking for possible violations of the Espionage Act and the Presidential Records Act. Classified or unclassified, mishandling those documents could be violations of either or both laws.
