Turns out that collecting Trump's passports was deliberate and purposeful.
It was reported this morning that the passports were found in Trump's desk drawer along with some classified folders. Finding "identity documents" along with the classified folders ties custody of the folders more closely to Trump, makes it harder for him to blame poor storage on underlings.
