Trump appointed the FBI Director.

@Zeusdelight So what?
The FBI still is required to follow the law.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@Budwick Where have they not followed the law?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Zeusdelight They are not allowed to go willy nilly and harass citizens.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@Budwick And your evidence that they have gone willy nilly?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Zeusdelight Your evidence that it was necessary?
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@Budwick Neither of us has evidence of either position. The FBI and Courts have protocols, none of which any independent person has said have been breached.

If the protocols have been breached the complainants could seek injunctions to stop the searches through the courts. They have not. That is the only evidence I have that the protocols have been applied correctly.

I understand Trump is happy to use the Court process. If his argument is genuine I assume he would be in court.

@Zeusdelight
The FBI and Courts have protocols,
How does protocol support an unprecedented raid like the one on Trump?
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@Budwick It was a normal FBI raid. What makes it unprecedented?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Zeusdelight You are being willfully ignorant. Go away.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@Budwick Can't you answer the questions?

Why didn't Trump get his lawyers to defend him against the raid?

It was because he realised, or his lawyers told him there was nothing he could do.

It was the FBI's normal operation.

So Trump goes and plays the victim/hero to his supporters.

The person he appointed used the FBI's normal powers to gather evidence.

@Zeusdelight
Why didn't Trump get his lawyers to defend him against the raid?
Are you suggesting that Trump or his lawyers had advance knowledge of the raid?
That is just stupid.
Trump appointed the FBI Director
And George Washington promoted Benedict Arnold.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@Heartlander Well, if he thought the FBI was committing treasonable acts why didn't he get his lawyers to request an emergency injunction against the FBI?

Maybe he didn't have any legal grounds upon which to do so.

He had a tantrum, but you supporters seem to enjoy tantrums.
