A man armed with a knife jumped on stage and attacked New York Republican nominee for governor Rep. Lee Zeldin during an outdoor campaign rally in the Rochester suburb of Perinton Thursday night. The man reportedly wrestled with Zeldin but was subdued by someone else at the rally. Zeldin was not hurt in the attack and finished his speech.

The attempted assassin David G. Jakubonis, 43, from Fairport, New York was charged with second degree felony and later released from custody.

You make an assassination attempt on a political figure and are released, there’s a good chance you’ll try again. And no one sees this?
Oh, wait… he was trying to stab or cut his intended victim. Nothing to see here! Had he used a firearm, I wonder where the anti- gun people would be on this. Where would the interim NY Governor have been had the attempted assassin had a firearm been used in his attempt.
She needs to keep a sharp eye out.
There are no doubt others who would go after her too, thanks to her no cash bail laws.

@AthrillatheHunt Can’t fault her for that. It’s public knowledge where candidates go.
I think Zeldin presents a very serious challenge to her. She’s no Andrew Cuomo.
