I asked an IT expert I know and he said it that whatever went down was intentional. I guess the question is who were the protecting? Themselves, Trump or someone else.

@Ynotisay Your IT expert will tell you that before you wipe and reset any device, you back it up separately to ensure everything that is on there is preserved in case something goes wrong. This is particularly true when the device is covered by legal requirements that mandate all information be preserved. He is correct that the only conclusion one can reach is that it was done deliberately.
