The worst traitors are the most loved by Republicans.

@anythingoes477 Remember that by definition, a Republican is the opposite of Democratic. There are RIGHT and therefore should rule.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Even if takes killing Congress and hanging our VP to do it. ;-)

@anythingoes477 The end justifies the means.. You know that. Everyone is saying it. The only thing that counts is winning.. Thats America....😷

@whowasthatmaskedman You forgot killing each other.............that evidently counts too

@anythingoes477 There are many things to love about America and its people. But for my money the leadership took a wrong turn about 50 years ago, and has made just about every mistake possible since in an effort to compensate for the previous mistake. I am dismayed and alarmed by everything that has happened. But I cant say I am surprised. Nor can I say I see it getting better for Americans. 😷

@whowasthatmaskedman In the 1970's and up into the 80's even one person in a fsmily could make a living..send kids to college and buy a house. Reagan burned the highest paid jobs to the ground.......unions. Lowered the taxes of the rich drastically and taxed the middle class and Social Security to make up for the tax revenue shortfall and that has been build on every since.........and Trump really embraced make the rich richer and fuck the poor. You are right in all you say.

@anythingoes477 Thanks: And its not about the politics for me. If the divine right of kings yielded a better set of outcomes and numbers I would be all for it. But making the rich richer and the poor poorer just doesnt work in the long run. The pie to be shared is getting smaller...😷

@whowasthatmaskedman It has been a long term project.....convining people to NOT understand economics. Selling the idea to the poor that if the rich are richer yet.......somehow that will help the poor.
The ONLY economy that prospers is those that tax the rich in proportion to their income and tax the poor less so they have more to spend. That of course is ass backwards to Republican mantra..........and as FOX has gained a following...that propaganda has been fed to the dull witted and poorly educated for 50 years now. Now you can almost get into a fight if you even suggest to a poor man that we should tax the rich.
George Carlin was spot on about this..........looooooooooooong ago.

@anythingoes477 Yes. Rupert Murdoch in particular has a lot to answer for. America I fear is a failed experiment. Maybe China will do better..😷

@anythingoes477 You're on the nut with that. Post WW2, when the middle class was truly formed and exploded, the individual tax rate for the very wealthiest was over 90%. With Reagan, "Trickle Down Economics" took hold and the malleable began to be trained, largely through faux-patriotism and veiled racism, to support the rich at all costs because, you know, the rich would share the wealth.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Ynotisay Precisely. When you pull the thing apart and move from economics into Game Theory, it becomes clear that what works is a lot closer to trickle UP economics. If Capital creates an educated. healthy Motivated workforce, while providing products fit for the market, everyone makes more money in the long run. And the numbers bear that out.😷
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@anythingoes477 not correct... when you say he lowered the taxes of the rich, i'm sure you're referring to him lowering the highest tax rates from ~70% to around 35%. however, nearly no one ever paid that 70% rate because of all the loopholes. you could deduct interest from credit cards, car loans, etc. what he did was lower the upper tax rates and removed many of the deductions, thereby broadening the base of taxpayers.
anythingoes477 · M
@boudinMan it's your story....but some of us remember what Reaguns did first hand. And everyone who is now 62 and older are remembering every year when they pay taxes on Social Security that no one ever did before Reaguns taxed that to make up for the budget shortfalls of free and vastlt reduced tax rides for the weathy.
