I wonder with Boris the clown on the way out if anyone will get around proper justice for the mass grave in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea

Nothing will be done about Grenfell whilst the Tories are in power.
@Entwistle Since the atrocity was the result of a decade of Tory fuckery I am inclined to agree.

@Burnley123 I don't think so either but I figure it is harder to sweep something under the rug if some of us refuse to allow them to bury it in the news cycle as "old news."

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow People are not talking about Grenfell now. The media cycle has moved on.

That disaster was not because of Boris personally but because of the incompetence of a Tory council and systemic issues with British capitalism.

So much focus of our media has been obsessed with Johnson's lying and ignoring the systemic issues. That will continue.
@Burnley123 I know it was not the fault of Boris. For one I think that happened under May. But just like here the Tories from the local level on up everyone blamed everyone else and covered up and buried the rest.

I agree it is definitely systemic.

And I am not surprised the media has moved on. No idea how much of a difference it makes but I figure reminding people of tragedies like this might make people think.

Sadly those who have been obstructing progress on the Indian Residential Schools genocide here have also paid very little in real consequences.

I think part of it in that case is the reserves were quite deliberately in the middle of nowhere. I had never met a First Nations person till I moved to manitoba at 18.

The reason why things like Oka happened was because it has in the past at least been the only way to get people's attention. And in that case we deployed more troops than we sent to Bosnia to protect so rich guy's planned golf course on native land.
