At the most fundamental level I don't understand how people have arrived

At the bullheaded and incorrect conclusion that the USA stands for freedom.

To put it mildly our cultural "Demons" are anyone that questions the national religion of work.

Now I'm not arguing that this form of Tyranny is not you know, with a smiley face compared to having a gun held to our heads literally, but I don't see how the system isn't based on coercion considering the following:

Humans exist, but in order to survive they have a very basic list of actual needs deprived of which they will die, much like if they were shot in the wrong part of the body they would die,

Among those needs are food, drink, and shelter from the more extreme of the elements.

To me, you wouldn't need to hold a literal gun to someone's head to coerce them to work.

All you'd have to do is deprive of them of their actual needs until their will broke down, and they decided to work.

Our system is not based on "Freedom" it uses the coercion of human needs to force people to work. No "Gun" to their heads is required in order for it to be coercive.

to me a society that considers human needs to be privileges cannot be a "Free" society.

it's categorically impossible.

Welcome to your Dictatorship- it's your paradise.

I think it's bullshit.

The only people who believe America is a free country are those Americans who believe the Myth. America has many achievements in history. But back as far as segregation is has only been free if you fell in the right side of the curve. And that number is now dropping every year. Soon only the people with the money will be free, The rest will just be told they can have guns to shoot each other. It reminds me a little of the Gladiators.. It was the guys in the middle who had the weapons. But it wasnt them the show was for.😷
@whowasthatmaskedman there's a lot of bullshit that enables this like the belief that lies can ever be noble.

Reminds me a bit of the scene in game of thrones, our national myths.

But to me there are no noble lies. Lies are inherently ignoble. There's no escaping that. No "White lie" only lies.

The problem here is that existentialism prevents a slide into nihilism, even though many consider it a form of its itself, but it's an answer.

No necessary illusions, only deceit.

my view is that absolutely every lie across the board is wicked and there is no such thing as a good lie.
