So apparently both in 1987 and 2002 a majority of Americans polled thought a quote from The Critique of the Gotha Programme was from the US

Constitution.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.


It was part of the constitution of the USSR. I guess they got the two first letters right.


This explains so much about political discussions here and in general.
