Sharia Law, American Edition

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States

For all the lamenting, accusing, posturing and shouting, conservatives had no trouble at all imposing "moral" (Ailito's word) constraints on half the country's citizens by mixing Christian morality with governance.

You can celebrate, call it a win, dance in the streets - I'm sure the inquisitors and witch burners did, too - but know this: The entire world sees this for exactly what it is.
And it is White Christian Nationalism.

Do you want the Evangelical Church to determine who you can marry, what you can do legally in your bedroom?

@Pitchblue They've been angling for this since the days of the "Moral Majority" and we can all thank that dupe tRump for being so easily conned into this just to ensure their support 😖

I hope that our voters will see fit to give the Evangelical Right what it justly deserves come November. Not to be forgotten is that at least 50% of voters are women and a hell of a lot of them have Fathers and Husbands and Sons and Brothers, there will be consequences for this!

But its main purpose is to bring the beliefs and customs to the US. And live life as you believe. That doesn't mean change the way others in the same community Have to abide by said beliefs and customs.
The erosion of the Establishment Clause this week will be lost between Dobbs and Bruin, and honestly, I'm not sure if shouldn't be.

Maine solved the problem presented by the case, and while I don't agree with it, it's far less troubling than the other two, and can much more easily be dealt with.
