The Supreme Idiocy

What kind of deranged Judiciary can rule that it's acceptable to deprive American women of their rights in the 21st Century, whilst mentally unbalanced teenagers are at liberty to slaughter schoolchildren and their teachers?

They didn't do that. Liberal media can't get it right. Try a few facts:

"We end this opinion where we began. Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives"
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@carpediem so they allow states like Texas to make it illegal to move to another state to receive an abortion.

This is purely political hogwash! Because they refuse to address this issue at all which was done by Texas by their previous decision.

That's not to mention not mentioning EVERYONE'S first amendment rights on every level.

They can't even move because of their own beliefs are for abortion. If you go for abortion you believe in it.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer The states decide by their elected representatives. You can’t figure that out? Don’t like it? Move. Just because you aren’t getting your way doesn’t mean the world is ending 🙄
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@carpediem don't you see they can't move? 🤣

It's illegal to get an abortion in another state.

This is a constitutional issue that SCOTUS refuses to address!
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer Stop whining. Deal with life. Every baby does NOT need to die. What is wrong with you?

The original decision was not constitutional on day one. Imagine all those babies who never had a life. Try to accept the realities of life. For once.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@carpediem I'm not whining! Heck I can't even get pregnant nor want to!

Has nothing to do with life as such. More the rights of beliefs. Which SCOTUS refuses to address!
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer Actually they do it quite well. They leave it to the people to decide by their elected representatives. That’s how it’s supposed to work.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@carpediem SCOTUS refused to address the first amendment! There was not one word in their decision!

So people can not even move because of beliefs if it's contrary to the state!
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer What needs to be addressed on the first amendment? It’s perfect the way it is
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@carpediem for your beliefs of course. Many are actually atheist's not to mention other beliefs.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer You lost me. You apparently know more about my beliefs than I do? It might surprise you to know to a limited degree, I support the right to choose on abortion. Please let me know what I believe next week ok?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@carpediem now you have lost me because your original reply is for this decision.

So it's mutual! This is a religious fight no less.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer I support the decision. Perhaps you don’t understand. Just because I believe in something does not mean I do not support the constitution. They righted a long standing wrong.

I don’t agree with my state because they intend to make it a beacon for abortion. I believe in limited time frame for abortion. But not everyone does. My stage would abort any fetus regardless of length of term. The elected representatives will approve it. I don’t like it, but the majority in my state do.

That’s how it works. I don’t like it, but I do enjoy living in a representative republic and thus accept the realities.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@carpediem you have just stated your own beliefs, yet would deny others of their own beliefs. That is what makes this a first amendment issue.

With this SCOTUS decision though it allows others to punish those that receive an abortion contrary to their own beliefs without the recourse of moving.

This is what makes this a first amendment issue! As I have stated many times now above Texas is one of those states. There are others as well.

Yet once again SCOTUS refuse to address the first amendment in ANY way.

As to how it works the constitution is often called a living document for a darn good reason. The SCOTUS trying to get around that by the strictest interpretation as possible.

That is wrong as well. The constitution acts as a whole not as a pick and choose your amendment decision.

What needs to be done won't be done and SCOTUS knows this. And that's to rewrite the amendments.

So they are using this fact in favor of their own beliefs. Disregarding the first amendment.

Is this clearer? 🤷🏻‍♂️
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer No. I completely disagree. The constitution is clear. It’s NOT a living changing document based on the whims of the few. In my opinion, that’s a crazy idea. We have a set of guidelines. Let’s live by them. Simple.

Thanks for the discussion and your opinions.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@carpediem see the rules for changing amendments. The civil war was the most major.

A similar reoccurrence will happen over many issues. And will happen if the constitution will not change.

I have talked to both conservatives and liberals alike.

He see above for a more conservative POV though he claims to be neither. He has ALWAYS responded as conservative to me anyway.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer Agreed. There is a process to change. I support following it. Good luck with that.
