The Supreme Idiocy

What kind of deranged Judiciary can rule that it's acceptable to deprive American women of their rights in the 21st Century, whilst mentally unbalanced teenagers are at liberty to slaughter schoolchildren and their teachers?

Oh, it's totally fair. After all, why wouldn't a piece of undeveloped and unviable fetal tissue - which could be aborted spontaneously for any reason by the body - have more rights, nay, more value than a full-grown woman.

It's as it always has been. Anyone but a white male is a 2nd class citizen. It's unspoken and it's well-hidden, but it's there.

@Graylight extraordinarily well put.. Orthodox Judaism views the fetus as "potential" life not actual life... and while a fetus has value it is viewed clearly as of lessor value than that of the Mother... To the point that abortion is not only permitted it is mandated if it threatens the life of the Mother... and this holds to the very moment of birth.. (late term abortion) ... Western law is based upon a foundation of biblical law... Those seeking to enact laws should be better educated...

@pdqsailor1 Indeed. The sanctity of parents and parenthood, especially that of the mother (it's my understanding) is inviolate. And everything in the Jewish faith has a Biblical reference for its existence (ones that can actually be found, too!).

@Graylight it is far more practical than it is spiritual. The life of the Mother - actual life supersedes that of a fetus potential life.. Beyond the obvious that she is already alive while the Fetus until it is born is potential life not actual life.. comes the practical answer that she can go on to give birth to additional children AND to raise them... The Fetus is of lower status than the Mother and does not gain the status of a living being until born.. When I hear the "right to life" crowd chant their mantra - I shake my head, when they decide that the fetus has a beating heart.. I shake my head.. NOT until the MOMENT it is born - and that means has exited the birth canal... and draws breath... is it alive. This is not MY opinion it is that of the sages... this is not a legislators opinion or a judges.. it is far more fundamental than this and ... they do not get to decide differently.. the temerity of all these people with opinions slays me.. What is the basis - the foundation for the opinion? Did they pull this out of their backsides?
