Why are conservatives afraid of open borders and freedom of movement? Are all their excuses lies?

Is there something that allows them to ignore other people's rights?

Is the northern border wide open too?

Like, as a Canadian, am I allowed to just stroll into the US and stay there, undocumented? o_O

no way

@MougyWolf actually, you are. The vast amounts of undocumented immigrants on expired visas come from Canada.
@basilfawlty89 It's a different situation, though. Canadians come here legally, but then they're unable to renew their visas because our immigration programs are severely underfunded.

@BohemianBabe and that's actually the case for the vast amounts of Mexican undocumented immigrants too.
Most are on expired working visas.
@basilfawlty89 I don't know the exact numbers, but most of the people who come here illegally are from Mexico. That's why securing the northern border isn't really an issue.
When it comes to expired visas, I don't really care.

@BohemianBabe go check the numbers. Most undocumented Mexican immigrants are on expired working visas. Hence why a border wall makes no sense. The rest are not from Mexico, but from Central American countries looking for asylum which is legal. Very few people actually cross the border illegally.
