We're not anti-LGBTQ, except we are

The Texas GOP, the party whose official platform it now is to teach abstinence only and reject the election of Joe Biden, has added a third clear signal to its agenda.

The Texas state GOP just made waves for its decision to prohibit the Texas Log Cabin Republicans, a group representing LGBT Republicans, from having a booth at its convention. This decision is counterproductive and backward. A party truly about individual freedom and liberty should have room in its tent for both religious conservatives with traditional views on homosexuality and gay Republicans.

What’s more, a political party’s job is to win elections, and the Texas GOP is openly rejecting a group that wants to support them, agrees with them on most issues, and wants to defeat the Democrats, all because they can’t stomach the thought of having gay people in their party.

This is really really pathetic. On the flip side, to be a Republican and any part of the LGBT community must require some serious brainwashing at this point to maintain that level of cognitive dissonance.

We are so smug here in Canada thinking change is always progressive but this could happen anywhere 😢 "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance" - things don't just get better and stay that way, we have to keep working.

The GOP.....quickly becoming the Party of Bigots and Hate.....even of their own. Sooner or later surely even Republicans will catch on to the reality that this is NOT the party they belonged too 5 years ago.
