If every American had a gun would there be more or less dead bodies ?

It's not about the number of guns. It's about who has them. The number of firearm homicides today is roughly 50% lower than it was 1993, per FBI statistics. But the number of guns owned has more than doubled since then. 90% of firearm homicides are committed by felons, per the FBI. It is already illegal for felons to be in possession of a firearm. So if you really want to see a substantial reduction in firearm homicides, get the guns out of the hands of violent criminals. New gun laws won't fix it since criminals break the law by definition.
@BizSuitStacy I know deer hunting is a necessary "evil" since culling the deer is a need to keep herds from starving (sorry evil was the wrong word) NO guns should be sold to teenagers period as it is a known psychological fact that teens have not yet developed mature reasoning skills and tend more toward compulsive behaviors. No one in the USA
"needs" an AR-15 with t he possible exception of some QUALIFIED Law enforcement and/or military and they need to pass rigid mental examinations with an at least 90 day waiting period and NO prior criminal record.
@Grateful4you Congratulations. You memorized the gun control talking points nicely.

The founders weren't thinking of hunting deer when they wrote the 2nd Amendment.

And yet our gov't has no problem with 18 year olds in the military handling fireapower FAR MORE POWERFUL than what civilians are allowed to own.

Ohh...my favorite! So, the 2nd Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights, and not the Bill of Needs. That statement is also a signal of firearms ignorance. In other words, the only people who use the catch phrase "no one needs an AR-15" typically don't know much about firearms. Other than looking scary, what is it about the AR-15 that is so objectionble?

Psychological exam for the average citizen? To be given by whom? Leftist psychologists who hate guns? 90 day waiting period? Why 90 days? Why not 10 days like we have in my state? The purpose of the 10 days is a cooling period...no one is actually spending time looking into you background. That's accomplished in just a few minutes through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

And of course, you've completely deflected attention away from my first comment. We have more than twice as many guns as we did in 1993, but roughly half the firearm homicides. So the number of guns isn't the issue. And 90% of the firearm homicides are committed by felons. Yes...the problem all gun controllists simply refuse to acknowledge is that violent criminals with guns represents the elephant in the room. Is your answer to this problem is to take guns from law abiding citizens?
