Is Luttig right?

“We Americans no longer agree on what is right or wrong, what is to be valued and what is not, what is acceptable behavior and not, and what is and is not tolerable discourse in civilized society.”

I no longer buy into the "we Americans" argument.

"We Americans", applied when all sides accepted Law & Order, and common sense arguments.

We now have one group of Americans, the Trumpists, led by a guy who made a career out of ignoring Law & Order, finding loopholes to exploit, and out right ignoring court order (trained by Roy Cohn, who made a career out of ignoring court orders).

So, the majority of Americans, mostly, understand the difference between right and wrong, and a minority understands it, but ignores it, and looks for loopholes to fuck everyone else.

@Northwest Indeed. I’m not a neo-fascist.

I never thought so. The Vice President must certify that he believes the election was fair and legal. By the time Pence was to make that declaration, there was so much information coming in of fraud and illegal activities. While the VP does not have the power to overturn and election, he does have the power to declare that he can not certify the election. In that event the constitutional remedy is for the house of representatives to select the President and the senate to select the Vice President. In the house , each STATE gets one vote ( so the elected representatives of each state would have to vote amongst themselves and the majority picks that state's selection for President) , while in the Senate each senator gets a vote to select the VP. The candidate with the majority wins the office.

Pence refused to even consider it , which I thought was a cowardly act. The constitutional remedy would have quieted the country instead of dividing it further, because at least half the country believes the election was stolen and biden is the illegitimate puppet of the deep state.

@MistyCee That's a given. Most people on the left just parrot what CNN says. CNN says whatever is necessary to make the narrative go the way they want, which usually has little in common with the truth. I find it interesting that the radical lefties have no tolerance to hear any evidence that is being stockpiled about the election fraud. Now that the left can no longer censor Trump because he has Twitter and Truth Social, they will have to bury their heads in the sand not to hear it before 2024. Independents such as myself (I am a constitutional conservative) are listening though, as are minorities. Given biden's polling numbers are at a record low now, before the election when the facts roll out will they even register?
@TexChik Thanks. I didn't realize Trump is back on Twitter, though. When did that happen?

@MistyCee He's not yet though the new owner has given him an open invite. But if Trump runs, you can believe he will take advantage of it. In the meanwhile, Musk (a new Republican) will not censor election fraud content and will likely regain all those conservatives (like me) that deleted their Twitter accounts while it was a radical leftist censor site.

He is right, and the fact depresses me.
