Month before Buffalo shooting, poll finds, 7 of 10 Republicans believed in 'Great Replacement'

A poll of 1,500 Americans found a majority of self-identified Republicans believe demographic changes are caused by liberal leaders.
This unfounded idea, known as replacement theory, was widely cited in documents believed to have been left by Buffalo shooter.
The poll also found large portions of younger respondents approve of violence to achieve political change.

So this...

A poll of 1,500 Americans found a majority of self-identified Republicans believe demographic changes are caused by liberal leaders.

does not equate to this:

This unfounded idea, known as replacement theory, was widely cited in documents believed to have been left by Buffalo shooter.

It's two separate things, but the Democrats and their confederates in the MSM are doing a great job of equating the two.

Do you actually share those beliefs or do you just regurgitate what you hear from the MSM?
@SumKindaMunster But you do understand that the shooter did this because he believed in the conspiracy, right?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe I acknowledge it was one of his motivations.

However, that is irrelevant to my comment, is it not? I'm pointing out the odious misdirection of the MSM when it comes to framing things in a way that's convenient for the TPTB on issues such as this.

It's perfectly reasonable to be concerned about the unfettered swarm of illegal immigrants coming over our border unchecked. That doesn't mean you believe in a conspiracy theory about it.

That's the whole point of promoting the "replacement theory" to delegitimize those that have concerns about this administrations disinterest in securing the southern border.
@SumKindaMunster But this shooter wasn't just concerned about illegal immigration. He actually believed the conspiracy that Democrats are replacing white people with non-white people as part of a sinister plot.

Personally, I'm against third world immigration for economic reasons. And I think anti-white racism does exist in America. But there is no conspiracy where Democrats are replacing white Americans with brown people in order to have "obedient voters" that will give them authoritarian power. That's the lie Tucker Carlson feeds people and that's the reason this guy went on a shooting spree.

Yes and I acknowledged that. Did you miss my comment?

As many are, yet the MSM is pushing the narrative that this is racist and anti-semetic, hence the obsession with the great replacement theory.

That's the MSM narrative. I'm not saying its wrong and Carlson is right, but there is way more nuance here. You should expand your media diet to include non MSM sources...and by that I don't mean spend your time reading right wing propagnda.

Here are some people in the media who get it:

Glenn Greenwald
Matt Taibii
Michael Tracy
Caitlan Johnson

But you're pretending that the media is conflating this with just being concerned about illegal immigration, which had nothing to do with the shooting.

First of all, Carlson is MSM. Fox is the most watched "news" network and Tucker Carlson is their most watched show. Let's stop pretending Fox and the billionaires that fund them aren't mainstream.
Secondly, there is nuance when talking about immigration in general, but I'm only talking about Carlson's Great Replacement lies here.
Finally, I watch plenty of media that isn't mainstream. I've yet to heard a decent argument that backs up Carlson's propaganda.

Like hell I am, I'm saying the MSM is conflating the two. That has nothing to do with the shooter's motivations, it has to do with the media and how they choose to portray things to promote an agenda.

I know he is. I said so myself.

I call bull on your supposed media consumption, you seem very triggered by Fox News and Tucker Carlson. That's the province of the indoctrinated left wing, being upset by what Fox news and it's pundits have to say.

You bother to look up any of journalists I mentioned?
@SumKindaMunster

And I'm saying that you're either lying or brainwashed.
Then again, you seem to think Tucker Carlson isn't MSM, so I don't know what you consider MSM.

😆

So because I'm willing to point out that Fox News lies constantly, I'm "triggered," yes?
This is a common fascist tactic. Lie, then when your lie is debunked, just deflect and talk about how angry your political opponents are. Carlson himself does this so he doesn't have to defend his conspiracy theories.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe
And I'm saying that you're either lying or brainwashed.

It's both sad and amusing to me that you can only accept one choice or the other. I've noted the binary responses from indoctrinated individuals such as yourself. It can only be one thing or another in your world, you have no time or patience for shades of gray.

This soothes your anxiety for it can't be that I choose to believe something different than you, I must be lying or brainwashed.

So because I'm willing to point out that Fox News lies constantly, I'm "triggered," yes?

I would say so yes. I mean, do you really truly believe that "Fox News lies constantly"? Really? So everything they say is a lie? I mean, I am well familiar with the misdirection tricks of the MSM, but I wouldn't go on record saying everything CNN says is a lie, because that's just ridiculous and obviously untrue. Of course what they report is true, its just that how they choose to report that news and what they choose to highlight or say is where you see the manipulation.

Then again, you seem to think Tucker Carlson isn't MSM, so I don't know what you consider MSM.

I said 2 times already that Fox News, and Tucker Carlson are part of the MSM, MainStream News. I take no responsibility for your poor reading comprehension.

This is a common fascist tactic. Lie, then when your lie is debunked, just deflect and talk about how angry your political opponents are

It's not a trick, nor is it something exclusive to facists. Deflection is a big part of any partisan writings these days, whether they come from the left or the right.
@SumKindaMunster
I mean, do you really truly believe that "Fox News lies constantly"? Really? So everything they say is a lie?
I didn't say everything they say is a lie, I said they lie constantly. You're straw-manning.

Of course what they [CNN] report is true, its just that how they choose to report that news and what they choose to highlight or say is where you see the manipulation.

That's true for channels like CNN and MSNBC. However, Fox does that, plus they just make shit up. When Fox obsesses over Critical Race Theory, they're being biased in how they highlight a story. However, when they say that CRT is being taught in kindergarten and that it says all white people are racists, all black people can only be victims, America is irredeemably racist, and so on... those are just lies. Same thing with the claim that Hillary was caught spying on Trump. That wasn't a case of reporting on a story because of bias, that was a case of Fox just lying about what was in the report so blatantly that the people who made the report had to condemn them for lying.

This is why Fascists will sometimes say things like "Fox and CNN" are both bad. This is technically true, but it also downplays how much worse Fox is. And that's the point. It's a way of normalizing Fascism, because it presents the Far-Right as just another political option.

It's not a trick, nor is it something exclusive to facists. Deflection is a big part of any partisan writings these days, whether they come from the left or the right.

And now you're literally doing what I just described.
No, deflection is not done by the Left nearly as much as it is done by the Right. The Left can actually defend their points.

Oh ok, that's a big difference there. 😆

You are utterly and hopelessly indoctrinated. 🙄

Anything else?
