Nope...because the constitution says my right to have them is protected. The best way to start a civil war is to try to take our guns
@TexChik There would be a bloodbath!
TexChik · F
@NoGamesTolerated The US would split
@TexChik after much blood shed.
TexChik · F
@NoGamesTolerated oh I think it would come first, secession, then the war
@TexChik ok well we will see… They honor the constitution like they honor the sanctity of life and lives of police officers… just my opinion. 🙂
@TexChik I respect your point (non american here) but in what world does a regular everyday civilian need the amount of lethal force that a weapon such as a 12 gauge or AR15 provides?

@user39122 You're Kidding right?
TexChik · F
@user39122 We shoot game birds with a 12 gauge. Its just a shot gun. An AR fires a relatively small round. .22 caliber. That is pretty small. I hunt deer with a much more powerful weapon. An AR is light and wieldy , its easy and fun to shoot. It a simple .22 semi auto rifle.
@TexChik That's fair enough, personally I would make it a rental basis in those situations though. That way you keep them in places where they will be used for a specific purpose which doesn't involve use against people.

@user39122 Our 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting or sport shooting. It's specifically designed to keep the government in check.
@Ironhand that what I was taught!
TexChik · F
@user39122 SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. That is what the constitution says about our right to keep and bear arms. What you propose is in direct violation of our law. Bullets fly every day in Chicago, which under liberal law has become a war zone. The media hides all reports coming out of Chicago because the libs method does not work and never has. Americans have guns, we always have. If our laws were inforced and the bad people prosecuted , gun violence would hardly exist.
@Ironhand I know but allowing members of the general population (some of which are mentally unstable) to decide at what point they deem the government to be tyrannical is crazy.
TexChik · F
@user39122 Our government is of , by, and for the people. We are not ruled by Tyrants. Mentally ill people really dont have any rights to weapons or voting. Mental illness is an area where our abilities to identify and treat are very limited.
Ironhand · 51-55, M
@user39122 Have you seen the people elected recently? Talk about mentally unstable. Our state governments provide a check and balance on our "betters" in DC and that's how the founders intended it. We also have a god given right to defend ourselves and the firearm is the great equalizer. Decades ago, there were less gun laws on the books than there are now and a greater percentage of American households owned guns and there were less "mass shootings" than there are now. What's changed? Because it's not the guns.
