It doesn't matter.
The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
End of discussion.
@hippyjoe1955
I thought that you were a Canadian citizen

@hippyjoe1955 what is the whole “well regulated militia” predicate? Just a throw away?
@hippyjoe1955 This is how neo-liberals are planning to push anti-gun laws, by changing the meaning of the constitution, when it's obvious from numerous supreme court rulings the right to bear arms is the right of all US citizens, not a state sponsored militia.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@DailyFlash The reason why is not important. The right of the people to keep and bear arms is all that matters. If you can take that away then every other right is equally disposable. We see this in Canada where our Charter Rights no longer exist. They were a paper creation that meant nothing when the rubber meets the road. The government need only declare an emergency and every human right in the land disappears.

@hippyjoe1955 You know what I really like specifically about you in this whole guns nonsense? It was on the other forum where you admitted to leaving your rifle in the trunk of you car while you were at school. This just shows you what careless disregard the average gun owner has to the security of their weapons. You should be ashamed but I'm sure you'll just argue.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@GeniUs Back in the 70s when I was leaving my guns in the rifle rack that was the norm. No one would ever dream of taking it or using it to commit an evil act. Every truck in the parking lot had a rifle rack and a rifle or shotgun in the rack. That was NORMAL!
GeniUs · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 I knew you'd argue which is typical of gun owners; "it's in the constitution", "it was normal", neither of these is any sort of justification. Shameful and even more so in that you think you even have a point to argue.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@GeniUs I don't own any guns. I sold them when my kids were young.
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
@GeniUs hate to tell you this, but before Columbine and before Biden's Gun Free Zone Legislation was put into Law, you could find guns in the back window racks of every truck in Rural America. Even in School parking lots. So hippyjoe1955 could very well had guns in his car trunk back then as I did under the hood of my 1970 VW Bug.
GeniUs · 56-60, M
@hippyjoe1955 but you own a terrible mind set towards the ownership of them.
GeniUs · 56-60, M
@dakotaviper "everybody was doing it", sits perfectly alongside "it's in the constitution" and "it was normal". you people are utterly shameless just so you can have your fun. If there is a Hell you will rot in it.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@GeniUs Ownership of what? I don't own guns. I don't want to own guns. I sold them on purpose. Not sure what your point is.
