At the least, a temporary ban except for those persons with a legitimate, active need to carry one.

What will that do? Offer some much-needed breathing room for an honest discussion about the best regulation policy for this country. Canada is a nation swimming in guns, but their regulations are among the strictest anywhere. And it works.

If you're not arguing the freedom for you yourself to walk through Dunkin' fully strapped, be careful about arguing for everyone else right to also do so.

@Graylight all a gun ban will do is to create more targets for people with a criminal mindset. Criminals will be the ones who will be the 'legitimate' carriers of guns that people like you desire. Good luck as you're going to need it.

@dakotaviper Really? Worked in so many countries. Couldn't possibly work in this one.

Criminals get guns primarily as stolen items, meaning: The guns belong to "responsible owners."

@Graylight feel free to give up your guns now if you own any. As for me, if they make it pass George, then they can have my guns, but they'd have to get pass George first.

@dakotaviper Busy saving lives with yours, are you? Protecting against all that danger like a cowboy superhero?
