Restricted to where mentally challenged people can't get them. If you have an assault charge you shouldn't be able to buy one either. The law surrounding gun ownership should be updated. There will never be a ban on them, because then all the "bad guys" would have them all. Like it or not, guns are here to stay. We own guns, and no one is taking them! I've been around guns my whole life without any problems.
