Should the ownership of guns be banned or restricted?

It is too late for gun control. It is like the one ring in Lord of the Rings, once they put their hand on it, it owns them.. it is their precious... They cannot stop wanting it, or stop protecting it. Nobody will ever take it from them except from their cold dead fingers.
