There would be no problem if they were still on the Federal grid. I wonder how much the average citezen will owe by the end of the summer to keep Corporations air conditioned on their shared electrical grid?

@Pitchblue Good question. But Abbott and others will just blame it on the libs.
@windinhishair They wanted to be on their own grid so the Federal Gov couldn't interfere. Now the people are fucked. In Feb 21 Abbott, Cruz and Da Boys made people with no power share the cost of the manufacturers, corporations that did. Homeowners got bills of 800 dollars for No Power. People died and then Abbott made them pay.

@Pitchblue Yes, it was a conscious choice. And yes, people paid thousands of dollars for inadequate power, and the legislature too no steps to fix the problem for the future.
People like Cancun Ted Cruz fled to stay warm, while regular people froze and died.

@windinhishair BUT, just because a family member died and more people will die this summer of heat stroke that certainly won't make Texans change their vote from R to D will it?

@Pitchblue I doubt it. But there has been some movement in getting more people to accept global climate change as a reality, following hurricanes and tropical storms dropping 60 inches of rain a couple of years ago followed by massive flooding, and now record heat and drought in May--a month that is generally one of the wettest of the year. This is July/August weather 2/3 months early.

@windinhishair Here in southeast Wisconsin / Milwaukee area, it was upper 80s and lower 90s a day and two ago. I turned on my air conditioning on May 12 - the earliest date ever that I have done so. Yet, on April 18, we received 6/10 of an inch of snow.

@Byron8by7 Upstate NY and New England got that snow on April 19, and most of that area has had warm temperatures and little rain/snow since. There is very little soil moisture which is unheard of in May.

@windinhishair In early April, North Dakota (where I lived from 1998 to 2017) got three feet of snow.
@windinhishair The power grid is usually maintained in April, May so that will be one more thing to compond the problem.
The States that are balking at Climate Change now will be migrating to States that still have water later. Do those States get to say F O when that starts?

@Pitchblue Good question. The Return of the Rust Belt?
