Could've used those math textbooks

1. Should Roe v. Wade be overturned this summer, 13 states are set up with "trigger laws" that will outlaw abortion at the state level immediately. At least another 10 will have similar or same on the books shortly after.

2. Today, a 59% majority of U.S. adults say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, while 39% think abortion should be illegal in all or most cases (Pew Research Center survey, conducted April 5 to 11).

3. Written in 1787, ratified in 1788, and in operation since 1789, the United States Constitution is the world’s longest surviving written charter of government. Its first three words – “We The People” – affirm that the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens. The supremacy of the people through their elected representatives is recognized in Article I, which creates a Congress consisting of a Senate and a House of Representatives (United States Senate).

1+1+1 isn't equaling 3 and until it does, we live in a nation that controls us. If you don't like the idea of your elected state representatives assuming they can read your mind, text/write/call/contact their office and remind them about the "serve" part.

That's one important fact you overlooked... You stay the thirteenth is there to serve the people.. What about the people serving the government?
Half of you, nearly half anyway, don't like voting but then complain about the result.
You voting system itself sucks and is wide open to manipulation via the boundaries that are drawn.
Did those things to and then you will have a representative government

@ozgirl512 I don't say it. That passage was authored and published by the US Senate.

I'm tireless at pointing out that people get the government they deserve. You are absolutely correct; government is only an engine. Without the fuel of the people and the willingness to work together with one common goal, we're going to sit idly on a bock somewhere.

Government isn't something that happens to people; it is the people and those whom we elect to do the heavy lifting shouldn't be spending their time and balance filling their own pockets.

@ozgirl512 People don’t serve the govt. the government’s job is to work for the people.
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
@justanothername but some people, even those on this site believe otherwise. That's what I don't understand.

@justanothername when half the people can't be bothered voting, it's not working!
Voting is serving your Civic duty....
