President Putin Wanted to Recall Two Highly Decorated Retired Military Officers to Active Duty In Order to Court-Martial Them.

In retirement, they had criticized the president. They would have been disgraced and possibly faced long prison sentences. Oh, wait a minute. Did I say President Putin? I meant to say President Trump wanted to do this. Until his Secretary of Defense talked him out of it.

My understanding is the reason why Trump wanted to do this is because both retired officers had made critical comments about him, deeming the men disloyal.

I guess Trump failed to realize that their loyalty is to the Constitution, not to a Commander-in-Chief that they no longer served, and that they were exercising their Constitutional right to free speech.

On second thought, Trump really doesn't give a shit about any of that stuff. If you cross him, he will come after you if he can.
