Since Americans dont have compulsory voting, the apathy that citizens feel toward the options is a real factor. And lets face it. the '16 Presidential Menu was Shyte, no matter how you cut it. On the other hand, by the time '20 came around people were motivated as hell. So even using your dubious 12 million vote figure. over 20 million more people came out to vote against Trump. Imagine how many more votes they might have got with a really promising candidate?
But at this point it doesnt matter. The nation is hollowed out and collapsing in on itself as we speak. In fact the entire US economy has become a giant Ponzi scheme with a debt spiral that cant be stopped.
