As usual, she’s making a Grand Canyon-sized logical leap here, with no nuance to her argument. Gender identity/dysphoria are rooted in biology, not “circumstances.” People unhappy in their marriages typically don’t just drop everything and leave, and there are major trade-offs associated with separation and divorce. Seeking happiness for oneself can be a sacred act that can have profoundly positive effects on others. Too bad Lori and her ilk define God so narrowly that they can’t embrace that.
