Who is to blame for people outside of America believing all Americans are super rich?

Now I like talking to people outside of the US because so many people here aren't into me and I do better with the European and Conservative countries. However, whenever I say I have trouble affording something or that I can't afford to travel, they are in total shock. There are also a lot of immigrants who say America isn't what they thought it was. Are there propaganda machines in other countries that are over glamorizing America, and if so who is manipulating these machines?

The media. Also the USA promotes itself as the wealthiest nation in the world, and by the numbers it is, but what people don't realize is that the total wealth of the nation is HIGHLY concentrated.

They see a multi trillion dollar economy and think " wow they are so rich" but in actuality 90% of that sum is owned by like 5 people and the other 95% of people are working poor.
