Government sandwich making program

romper69 · 51-55, M
I await someone to make a post claiming it is an actual news story
dale74 · M
@romper69 Build back better how to make the perfect sandwich. Paid for by your tax dollars. Because 13 years of education did not teach kids how to make a sandwich.

Well, let private businesses make it instead and they'll sell you the lower bread for $5,000, and both the cheese, the ham and the upper one for $2,500 each as "optional features". Add another $5,000 if you don't want to eat it f*cking raw too, lol

@dale74 Ah yeah, because unregulated capitalists instead will threat you nicely and not overcharge you $10,000 for a burger when they have no problems altogether doing the same for those who have regulatory power on them. Things like the mafia never developed in vacuums of power, right?

@Elessar you anticapitalist make me shake my head the united states has one of the highest standards of living for the poorest in our country. I've lived in some really poor neighborhoods I'm talking houses that are only 600 square feet but you know what most all of them had flat screen TV most of them had a big screen TV most of the people had vehicles and a lot of the people in that neighborhood didn't even have jobs. Everybody in that neighborhood had electricity I had running water they had indoor plumbing and they had indoor bathrooms. I've traveled extensively around the world and most countries I've been to they're poor have a much lower standard of living I'm talking dirt floors no indoor plumbing sometimes not even running water nearby where people's food what we eat in one meal they might consume in a week.

You say you don't like capitalism but what are you on here with an iPhone Android you got a computer you got name brand clothes you got a name brand purse what kind of shoes do you wear are they made by a cobbler or are they Nikes reeboks New balance all of this is owed to capitalism you go to a company in this country or socialist country where the government owns everything everybody has the exact same everybody has the exact same shoes you don't get to pick you wouldn't get to pick necessarily what kind of phone you got. The former Sylvia Union loves capitalism they have choices now they don't have to live on just what the government gives them they can pick and choose. If you don't like capitalism move to a communist country or a socialist country.

@dale74 And where I've said that? I'm speaking about "unregulated capitalism", which is arguably the best growing culture for organized crime, not capitalism as a whole.

If you think the whole political/economic spectrum is reducible to the "capitalism good, govt bad" and "capitalism bad, govt good" dichotomy alone, maybe you would want to inform yourself better about the plethora of options that exist in between, before having this talk.

The U.S. is NOT an unregulated capitalism system so your example doesn't fit much. And there is a wide array of countries where the quality of life/services is much, much better than the U.S. (like, half of Europe), and all of those stray much farther from unregulated/pure capitalism than the U.S. itself.

South Italy would be a better representation of what happens when you have scarce regulatory power, and "self-regulating capitalism", which we commonly call "mafia".
Looks more like the result of Libertarian/Ancaps.

Funny, because it us who builds government.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@dale74 Let's do it. And update some governing principles and practices while we're at it. What we're doing isn't only not working, it's being weaponized by both sides. Maybe it's time to start again. If we don't do it, I think there's clear indication the universe will do it for us.

@Graylight what's bad is abusive government where politicians give away the money of the people to block the people so they can get their vote keeping them in power allowing them to get more and more confiscated wealth and power
Graylight · 51-55, F
@dale74 It is we who builds government. We interview, vet, hire, manage and fire. Why we think 'government' is some amorphous, sentient body is beyond me.
