It's either one of two things.

1. He just accidentally blurted it out on his own.
2. Someone in his administration realized how petty it makes him look to not give credit to the person who made the vaccine possible.

That would be cool if Peter Doocy picks up on this and asked Jen about it tomorrow during the white house briefing.
