Chicago Mayor Blames Retailers for Increased Crime and Lootings in City

Another Democrat hell-hole.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot blamed retailers for not protecting themselves enough from the criminals and looters in the city.

It’s their fault that the city is becoming unbearable to do business in.

Lightfoot, a committed leftist, can’t understand why they just don’t hire more security guards.
WOW!

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot blamed retailers for not making safety a priority amid a string of smash-and-grab thefts at retail stores in recent months.

“We still have retailers that won’t institute plans like having security officers in their stores, making sure that they’ve got cameras that are actually operational, locking up their merchandise at night, chaining high-end bags. These purses can be something that is attracting a lot of organized retail theft units,” Lightfoot said Monday.

Rob Karr, the president and CEO of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association, said Chicago businesses need the “fingerprinting among leadership to stop.”

Groups of looters in masks have stormed stores in orchestrated plots to steal thousands of dollars worth of merchandise in downtown Chicago and the city’s suburbs.

@Budwick I can't blame @Carazaa for doubting it. It's so stupid it's hard to believe even after you hear it yourself.

I am a person who always sees the positive about people, especially when people attack.

She is an amazing person who has overcome so much. She is a black person who has had it hard, and now she is an attorney wow! She is not for big government but for the little guy. This is what she made a case for the nuts-and-bolts processing of local grant proposals, arguing that many will go directly through local grassroots groups rather than state or city agencies, and they can "use the help and guidance, especially after being put under heavy stress during the pandemic."

“They are tapped out,” Lightfoot said from D.C. in a Zoom conference with reporters. “They have been greatly impacted by COVID.”

@carpediem I don't gossip and i do not watch news that does! That cuts out parts for their evil agenda and takes things out of context. I am smarter than to listen to gossip!.

If when trying to see the positive, if you ignore reality, you help no one.
Correct @Budwick
@Carazaa When i watched the news reports on Mayor Lightfoot's statements, I found it hard to believe but they were correct. She presides over (not governs) the murder capital of America.

@Carazaa You must be blind. She may have accomplished things in her life. Fine. But she's certainly not qualified to be the mayor of Chicago. She's a disaster. Her policies are awful. She treats others like dirt. She's one of the reasons Chicago is failing. There is no question about it. And those are facts, not "gossip".

But feel free to live in your pretend world.
