So what did we learn from the Rittenhouse trial?

Because it feels like the lesson is 'shoot back'. Is the law really going to rule "Last one alive is innocent"?

That America is a batshit crazy, lawless country. Full of hopelessness and greed.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
Very true but thank god there are people who love and want to defend it. Even Kyle Rittenhouse! 👍@SW-User
@Keepitsimple Exactly, the oath of office says to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign, and domestic, which Biden, and all other elected dems, violated when they slandered Rittenhouse. It does not say foreign or domestic.

@NativePortlander1970 All I can see from across the pond is that Americans value property more than human lives. Pretty much what I expected tbh.
@SW-User Are you a property owner?
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@SW-User Americans value human life. That's why Kyle used the minimum amount of force required to protect himself from multiple assailants. Maybe you missed that.
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@IronHamster 😂 A rifle = “minimum amount of force required to protect himself”? What about the force of staying home?
SW-User
@Theyitis Staying home... what a concept! I'd be thinking the ones who got shot might have done well to stay home too.
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@SW-User Well since they didn’t they deserved to be shot.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@Theyitis damn straight they deserved it!
SW-User
@Theyitis Why is it okay to judge Kyle and say he should have stayed home, but not the rest?
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@SW-User Oh no no I’m agreeing with you. Since they didn’t stay home they deserved to be shot, just like Rittenhouse himself got shot. Rittenhouse did get shot too, because the protesters were also carrying rifles, right?
SW-User
Well, one for sure had a gun and was shot by Kyle. Did you miss that or just trying to be obtuse?
Theyitis · 36-40, M
@SW-User Yeah, isn’t it wonderful that two adults both had guns to “protect themselves”? That way nobody got hurt. As Dr. John Lott and his totally genuine scientific studies will tell you, we’re all safer and fewer people get shot when more people are carrying guns.
SW-User
@Theyitis You're going to have to do this alone.
@Theyitis In reality, the "Wild West" was tons more civilized than today's society, when pretty much everyone carried a sidearm and a rifle, manners and respect for Elders was also quite demanded as well.
SW-User
@NativePortlander1970 yes and??
If I murdered someone I would go to prison for a long time.
@SW-User Old English common law allowed people to defend themselves and others when attacked, both inside and outside their homes, it goes all the way back to the Magna Carta.
SW-User
@NativePortlander1970 That was a long time ago... we have become more civilised since then. I wouldn't expect you to understand. Maybe when your country progresses a bit you will get it.
@SW-User Idiot
