So what did we learn from the Rittenhouse trial?

Because it feels like the lesson is 'shoot back'. Is the law really going to rule "Last one alive is innocent"?

Hell, they couldn't even charge the kid with the misdemeanor crime of a curfew violation
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@MarineBob Because the judge and jury were basically in the bag for Trump. That pretty much sums it up. 🙂
@Zonuss The charges he got off on that makes no sense to me at all even if you believe his self defense story is the endangerment charge. How is firing panicked shots at point blank range into a crowd not endangering people? That doesn't even work logically.

@Zonuss I don't believe that you even believe yourself! 😆

@Zonuss Sorry that you feel it's okay for a mayor to look the other way on some laws , that's not the way it works
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Zonuss I have to disagree on that.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow A jury of his peers aquitted him based upon presentation of evidence
@MarineBob Yeah, and Al Capone just really sucked at doing taxes.
@MarineBob Just like OJ.

OJ -- jury found a guilty defendant not guilty

Kyle -- jury found a guilty defendant not guilty

A jury of their peers acquitted both defendants based upon presentation of evidence.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays Another reason to not allow television in the courtroom.. keeps attorneys from playing for the camera
@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays And based on the logic of some of Kyle's supporters we should believe Al Capone just really sucked at doing his taxes.
@MarineBob Agreed. How do you feel about cameras in the U.S. Supreme Court?
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow . . . or that Donald really truly believed the election was stolen.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays Cameras in the courtroom don't belong .. unless the court installs the cameras and media must release undoctored footage
@MarineBob Couple of problems with that. It is an out of date way of looking at things and just not viable in the real world anymore. It is too late to unring that bell. Also keeping it behind closed doors is how alot of the corrupt bullshit has been permitted to keep going like 80% plea agreements and clearly biased cases when they do go to court.

Also this conspiracy theory implication of doctored footage because the footage doesn't fit a narrative does nobody any favors.

@MarineBob The judge had issue with the attorney going against Rittenhouse. Wisconsin is a straight up racist state. The system was already going in Rittenhouse" s favor. Plus they kicked dirt in the face of the rioters. So it was a no brainer. 🙂
@Zonuss It's never a no brainer for people with no brains.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Zonuss should the state appeal on grounds of inept prosecutors
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@MarineBob Civil suit is next said the family of Huber. This was a reckless move on the part of a politically charged vigilante.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@Zonuss Hubor's family should pay Rittenhouse one third the trial expenses and a million in emotional trauma.
