So what did we learn from the Rittenhouse trial?

Because it feels like the lesson is 'shoot back'. Is the law really going to rule "Last one alive is innocent"?

Nothing bothers me but a kid walking with deadly weapon.

I think everyone is going to be vigilante.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@iamelijah Kyle was fucking textbook in his application of use of force. He was attacked by multiple opponents, two of them armed with weapons, and needlessly and maliciously attacking him.
@iamelijah And yet numerous antifa anarchist scumfuckers crosses state lines with guns, why not condemn them as well?
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@NativePortlander1970 I'm talking about minors and guns. Are they qualify enough to hold that kind of weapon? Where the hell are adults to keep them safe?
@iamelijah So it's ok for adults to do it that were hellbent on causing destruction and violence in the streets to brandish guns for ill intent, while Kyle was there to protect a private business from them, hmmm?
@iamelijah As for brandishing that AR15, YES, Rittenhouse IS qualified, he was a Junior Police Cadet, trained in its use of operation.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@NativePortlander1970 I never said it was okay. Why do we have to act like those mobs too?
Is Kyle is the only one can save people in that hood? Where are the rest? Where are healthy adults? Why relying 17 year old kid handling guns?
@iamelijah Then why are you condemning Rittenhouse, who was there to protect a private business.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@NativePortlander1970 Because he was intend to kill. He could ask anyone to be with him to stay vigilant walkkng in group in the neighborhood but yet wandering alone and using very lethal weapon. He could just wounded people not murdering people. Of course it was self defense. If he shot someone who is not one of the mob, what could happen? The story would be different.
@iamelijah Guess what, when I took a firearm's course to get my armed security license in Las Vegas, two weeks of classes and range training, we were told to shoot to kill, not wound, it had to do with legalities.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@NativePortlander1970 Ah. I see. So, killing people mean nothing huh. Go ahead join him. Better shoot very bad people, have a good luck if you spot them.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@iamelijah You might want to learn the laws of self defense, because everything Kyle did was textbook, 100% moral, ethical, and legal. When someone is in the process of trying to kill you, it's illogical to think that you might not kill them when trying to stop them.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@IronHamster Ethical, moral? Wow. This is beyond of my mind. I didn't know we have ethical when murdering someone. Tell me sir, how come this old man guilty murdering two teens broke into his home. Premeditated? Yes, but he is defending HIS HOME and yet got LIFE SENTENCE for murdering INTRUDER. He wasn't at public place unlike Kyle.
See how rigged your justice system are.

@iamelijah Kyle didn't murder anyone. Kyle stopped three murderers.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@iamelijah Laws vary state to state. In my old home of Shitcago, the law was, you could not shoot an intruder unless your life was in danger, so make sure the perp has something sharp or heavy to throw at you. In Kyle's case, all three shitbags had the means, motivation, and opportunity to cause death or great bodily harm.

You are one of the geniuses who scream that cops should shoot guns out of the hands of criminals.

Why not? Happens in cartoons all the time

@NativePortlander1970 You always shoot center mass until the threat is neutralized
@iamelijah I actually used to have a coworker that knew that old man, he set up bait to ambush those two kids, he waited in the basement, and when he saw the girl was still alive, he put his pistol UNDER her chin and blew her brains out. This case is a complete false equivalency to Rittenhouse.
@Slade Exactly. Or as Mel Gibson's character in the Patriot said, aim small, miss small, aim big, hit big.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@Slade My old training was, two center of mass, and if the threat persists the rest are head shots because he is probably wearing body armor. Protocol varies department to department, and changes year to year as new data comes out, often showing the old way was better than the new way.
@IronHamster Head shots are no longer permissable, the law now views them as coup d'grace shots, according to the two week course I took in 2008 to get my armed security credentials, my instructor was a retired IDF officer, he had dual US and Israeli citizenships.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@NativePortlander1970 Interesting. I will switch my ammo out. Two shots Remington Golden Sabre, followed by AP.

In 1994, we were debating hip and groin shots to combat the growing popularity of Kevlar. I don't think that ever took off.
@IronHamster One of my course classmates brought that up, the instructor said that deliberate groin shots in combat is considered an unwritten rule to never do, and said it should be a part of the Geneva Convention.
