What's the origin of America's rural ignorance cult?

SW-User
Scientists, economists, and historians all say things that contradict what the right wants you to believe.

@SW-User essentially. It's almost as if reality has a bias against the right/conservatives, who want to hold onto traditional values, beliefs, etc, even if new facts and understandings run totally against that

@SW-User I think weirdly, is a sign of success. Move the Overton Window so far to the right that a third of people reject the Enlightenment and the scientific method.
Growing up in Christianity I have found that it is often frowned upon to listen to outside sources/outsiders, and that you should go to God (in reality your preacher) for everything, and questioning anything in the Bible (or rather whatever the majority's current interpretation of it is) means you're not trusting God and have weak faith. Not a lot of room for critical thinking or facts.
It's not limited to rural American. Its EVERYWHERE. In the 1960's there was a back section in a car manual to tell owners how to adjust the cars valves. If you check most manuals now there's a warning in it that says do not drink the acid in the battery. In my town there are at 2 delivery places that have this printed on the pizza delivery boxes.....don't heat pizza in oven in this box.

Well.......duh. The dumbing down of America isn't a joke.

Amazing the most forlorn ignorant posters spew out the most elitist garbage.

You are not better than these people. You are a mediocre halfwit desperately trying to compensate by "otherizing" people much better than you.

Frauds like you are less than a dime a dozen

@Slade knowledge is elitist?
Slade · 56-60, M
@Stopmakingsense How would you know? You've proven to be a know-nothing, merely blathering moronic opinion.

Externally viewed ... It's a somewhat less extreme version of a Christian Talaban
The changes society has made over the past several decades. Many older conservatives continue to hold on to their beliefs of yesterday from when they were raised, and refuse to accept the fact that things have changed.

It is mostly the climate changers, the electric cult
and pay the immigrants money.🙄
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
Technically You mentioning it right now🧐
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@DeluxedEdition obviously you didn't even bother to Google "American Cult of Rural Ignorance", or you'd know it's not my new thing.
Ignorant, much?
