Do most Republicans ONLY want Trump back, and no one else?

Sure seems that way. I am not a Republican, but surely they can think of a better candidate for 2024.

Right now, around 47% of Republican voters want Trump to be the nominee. Next is DeSantis with around 11% support, followed by Mike Pence with around 9%, and everyone else below that. If Trump declared his candidacy, I'm sure his support would go up. But it's safe to say that at the moment, a majority of Republicans either prefer someone else or are undecided.

@Lila15 And if Trump gets the nod, there will be enough anti trump sentiment to make sure the Dems get up again.. Go Trump!!

@whowasthatmaskedman Careful what you wish for, there was just barely enough anti-Trump sentiment last time. About 40,000 more strategically placed Trump votes and he’d still be in the White House even though he lost the popular vote by 7 million, and I’m going to go out on a limb and guess Biden’s at least 40,000 votes less popular now than he was at this time last year.

@Theyitis Your are of course quite correct. And I wouldnt wish Trump on my worst enemy. (Actually, that is exactly who I would wish Trump on) But a coulple of things have changed. First the mess that Trump caused POST election with his stolen election BS.. Secondly January 6 and the legal blowback that is going to keep coming out of that. Then there is the stiffer resistance he is getting now from the party itself. Of course he is out fundraising the Party right now handsomely. And turning as much as possible into income for his failing resorts. That wont make a blind bit of difference to Trump Loyalists. But it will mean a number of unTrump sitting naminees will be light on campaign funding. On the other hand, Trump Nominees have yet to show any real value in contests against Democrats. Indeed if Virginia shows anything its that keeping Trump at arms length might help. There are a lot of cards still in play here. But I dont see many converts to Trump since November.😷
