Do most Republicans ONLY want Trump back, and no one else?

Sure seems that way. I am not a Republican, but surely they can think of a better candidate for 2024.

For me it’s not so much Trump, but I want smaller government, and less spending. Government controlled healthcare, healthcare sucks. Government controlled education, education sucks. Government controlled post office, post office sucks.

All these big programs that everyone complains about are run by the government. Give that money back and let free enterprise take over.

@brian29715 All of these things exist for a reason (for example, old people are totally uninsurable). And private options are there, and free to compete.

What I find strange is that there are no shortage of examples of government programs being ran well in other countries, but instead of improving ours, people just want to quit, hoping that the free market will magically rescue them even in situations where markets have clear barriers to efficient performance.

No grit these days.

@QuixoticSoul Totally agree with what you are saying and our politicians are GREEDY and that is why things dont improve. All they focus on once in office is being re-elected VERSUS the situations at hand.

@QuixoticSoul I’ll admit I’m ignorant, but in these other countries are there career politicians that are millionaires?
black4white · 56-60, M
@brian29715 I think you are solidifying his point OR am i mistaken?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@brian29715 Plenty of them do, though US is closer to a plutocracy than most developed nations tend to be.

Still, if that is the problem, why are you advocating for nuking government programs as opposed to campaign reform, lawmaker’s investment moratoriums, etc, etc.
brian29715 · 46-50, M
@QuixoticSoul I like what you’re saying, campaign reform, fair and honest elections. I’mall for it. I’m just tired of career politicians who are out of touch with most people and polarizing every topic when they have no standards and sway which ever way the wind blows.
