Do most Republicans ONLY want Trump back, and no one else?

Sure seems that way. I am not a Republican, but surely they can think of a better candidate for 2024.

Probably. Trump has a way of captivating the lowest common denominator. That's why so many people view him as a deity

@deadgerbil luckily, simply capturing the lowest common denominator will not be enough to win him the election.

There is no doubt he will run again and little doubt he will be the Republican nominee. However, I think that millions of Republicans will simply stay home on Election Day or will vote for a third party.

@deadgerbil, by "lowest common denominator," you're referring to all those semi-sentient hominids who are low IQ, RAY-cist (tm) rednecks who voted a white supremacist woman (who spent her entire life wearing blackface) to the office of Lt. Governor of VA.

Am I correct?
@billybcgn25 People who support white supremacy come in all colors, alas. 😳

@deadgerbil kind of like the rioters in Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis. You know, the 'peaceful protesters?'
@Muldoon Why aren’t they “patriots”, like the Capitol rioters ? Because the latter were mostly white ?
Muldoon · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard Antifa has a blank check with the liberals. Seattle gave them CHOP.
@Muldoon The KKK and Neo-Nazis certainly have a “blank check” with today’s conservatives.

@bijouxbroussard Where are the KKK? I haven't heard of this. Do they not wear white conehead hats anymore?
I haven't seen KKK.
@Muldoon They were the people standing alongside you cheering Donald Trump.
Muldoon · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard I've never had a plain clothes KKK member tell me they belong to the KKK.
I know one was trying to endorse Trump but Trump turned his endorsement down. Then Trump achieved the lowest unemployment for blacks in history when he was in office. Obama just rolled off 5.4 million unemployed onto SSI and said, Look! I lowered unemployment!
@Muldoon Actually, unemployment was cut in half during the Obama administration, and we were brought back from a pretty serious recession. The only thing Trump could legitimately claim was that the momentum continued—until the pandemic. But Obama wasn’t a braggart. Trump has been the one bragging and taking undeserved credit—as well as refusing to accept any deserved responsibility.

@bijouxbroussard Obama rolled off 5.4 million long term unemployed onto SSI and called it lowering the unemployment rate. Those 5.4 million never went back to work. They just sat at home still unemployed.
Trump is a bragger and that's a turn off to many. But that doesn't matter to many that believe in America first. Republicans want America first and they want people to work in America not sit on their couch at home getting paid by the government.
@Muldoon That’s baloney. The overall unemployment rate dropped during the Obama administration and, again, he didn’t brag about it. But Trump both bragged and lied about improving things for blacks specifically.
As I stated, the best that can be said is that it continued under Trump—but he can’t take any credit for initiating it. That’s provably false.

@bijouxbroussard I think we are listening to different versions of the same need.
I used to listen to CNN before I moved to New York when Hillary was their senator. When I got to NY they said they don't want her to be president because she can't be trusted.
I was shocked. Not my Hillary! She'll be the next president.
That's when I quit watching CNN. I try to read multiple news sources.
I'm looking for a descent cost of living to enjoy my life. I was getting that with Trump.
@Muldoon I never really watched CNN. NPR and BBC are two of my main news sources. But when you consider that Hillary carried New York state (Trump’s birthplace) in 2016, what people told you is at odds with how a majority voted.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@Muldoon Trump had nothing to do with the "decent cost of living" you enjoyed. In fact, it's just the opposite. In 2020, American oil producers were experiencing a glut, so he called OPEC and negotiated a drop in production. We're "enjoying" the benefits of that now in the form of higher gas prices as demand has gone up with the economic recovery under Biden.

@bijouxbroussard yeah, I lived in upstate NY and they don't like NYC where all the votes are.
