I get the Greatest Generation stuff, but tbh, they were largely given that monikur because of the generations behind them and historical accident.

Anyone getting cut down by Covid, imo, is tragic, be it Viet Nam baby killers, or kids who were lucky enough to fight a "just war."

What's s really sad, IMO, is how preventable so many COVID deaths are, and why preventing them has been de-prioritized for political reasons.

What's even sadder, though, is what the political reasons are, the gross pursuit of political power at the expense of the greater good, or at least the willingness to kill off millions in pursuit of the political power to achieve an alternate idea of the greater good.

@MistyCee The greatest generation weren't really involved in Vietnam to any great extent. The greatest generation helped liberate the world during world war II. They had their own sets of political beliefs and ideals, but they were living lives just like you and I do day in and day out. They were disillusioned, they were inspired, they were called to action, they sacrificed, they fell in love, and they tried to keep the world from falling apart. Just like us.

And when they needed protection most, we were slow to move.
