VAX OR STARVE: German State Allows Grocery Stores to Ban Unvaccinated

In Hesse Germany all retailers including grocery stores can now decide whether they want to allow the unvaccinated in their stores.

Hesse includes Frankfurt, the second-largest metropolitan region in Germany.

So they’re going to kill people who won’t get the COVID vax?
How does this make sense?

OK, lefties - let's see you try to justify starving citizens!

"We assume that this option will rather be used only on a daily basis and that stores for everyday needs will not make use of it," said Hesse's Minister President Volker Bouffier (CDU) according to a statement of the state government on Tuesday. Thus, it could happen in Hesse that even large supermarket and discount chains such as Aldi* or Kaufland* introduce the 2G rule in individual stores and on individual weekdays. However, it is highly unlikely that unvaccinated people will then no longer be able to shop in their region - because supermarkets are indispensable for the basic supply of the population.

@RobinPhoenix plus.. online shopping anyone?
@SW-User Online shopping is possible but not feasible for everyone, especially older people do not always have a pc or know how to use the internet.

This regulation is still young and I doubt that supermarkets will implement it. All people have a right to basic services and this includes the possibility to go shopping in a grocery store, no matter what vaccination status you have.

What bugs me is that the ordinance is being used to put pressure on the unvaccinated. That will not be effective and will only make people more opposed to vaccination.

@RobinPhoenix It bugs me too. But what really bugs me is the way this post has been framed. Supermarkets killing people!!! Vaccination or Starvation!!!! Utter BS.
@SW-User This annoys me more than I can tell you, I live in Germany and something like this will never happen here. But everyone believes what he wants to believe, and many have a lot of opinion for damn little knowledge.

Never happen here, and then you wrote,...

Are you confused?
Or, is it happening at the same time it is not happening?
@Budwick I think you are confused because you are implying that I am confusing facts here. You conjure up a scenario without any facts or evidence, you claim that unvaccinated people will die in our country because they can no longer go shopping and that is absolute nonsense.

What you're exaggerating here hasn't even made it into the main news broadcasts in our country, because we all know it's just a regulation that virtually no supermarket will implement. No people will starve to death here, regardless of their vaccination status or which party they belong to.

@SW-User some countries didn't put Amazon uber alles.

And how is that different than what I wrote?
SW-User
@Stopmakingsense What has Amazon got to with anything? Are you talking about grocery shopping?
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
@SW-User nothing. Nobody suggested shopping online from Germany! I was just randomly talking, obviously. Like you're doing. Blah blah blah.
Never heard of Amazon. Whatever.
What are you even talking about?
SW-User
@Stopmakingsense You think you can ONLY get online groceries from Amazon???

Hardly any countries actually have Amazon pantry. So guess what? most if not all supermarkets have their OWN online stores! And I KNOW German supermarkets are the same. Amazon is most certainly NOT uber alles.

@SW-User Holland just sold out in May;. Didn't Germany follow? Getting the benefit of full online Amazon delivery by December?
So someone said online shopping after all.
@Budwick I'm just pointing out the facts, I'm not describing a horror scenario like you... even if a retailer should implement this regulation, there will still be plenty of other stores where the affected people can get supplies.

But I doubt that grocery stores will implement this regulation, because this is also about their reputation and there will come a time after Corona, for that reason alone they can not afford to lose customers by such measures.

@RobinPhoenix
I'm not describing a horror scenario like you...
The horror scenario you seem to be willing to over look is that such a regulation was been issued!
SW-User
@Budwick What you seem to have overlooked is that nobody is going to starve to death as a result of this :)
@Budwick Many regulations were made that proved to be pointless and were withdrawn again so no need to freak out.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@SW-User Do, you have discovered a way to not eat?
You may be up for a Nobel!
SW-User
@Budwick No, but I have discovered a way to not starve.

I call it: going to a grocery store that does not have this policy in place :)
Budwick · 70-79, M
@SW-User It's a government regulation!
