Should Trumpism be treated like a disease?

This guy's lawyer says his client's parole violation (streaming Mike Lindell on the Internet) is akin to a drug addict having a relapse and that he shouldn't be reincarcerated because of it.

Honestly, this one really bothers me. I've always been trouble with addiction as a disease, Trumpism, aside, for one thing.

Then there's the fact that not accessing the internet was a parole condition. Is this akin to pedophiles not hanging around schools?

Is it different if he was watching it without the ability to share it, say on Newsmax?

No, trumpism is an individual choice made by an adult. If a person breaks the law then they should be held responsible.
@softspokenman Doesnt an alcoholic make an "adult choice" when they take a drink, though?

Maybe we're talking about the difference between getting behind the wheel?
@MistyCee Addiction to alcohol is a brain disease characterized by altered brain structure and function. The AMA 1956
@softspokenman Trump was 10 years old in 1956, and probably had infected very few.

I'm inclined to agree that there are big differences, but I've never seen brain studies on things like Naziism or McCarthyism, so maybe science just hasnt caught up yet.
