The military may well have considered that danger but its risk is probably very low because the Taliban want all foreigners out of Afghanistan. Shooting at aircraft would be self-defeating.
(That's why a lot of Afghan men joined first the Muhajhadeen then the Taliban - to expel the foreigners they saw as at least interfering if not invaders. Not just religious fundamentalism mixed with a lust for power over their fellow Afghans. )
