Was invading Afghanistan a crime?

Are we too confused to remember?

Dreams of empire are for bully nations.
@SnowBlack As recently as 2014 a Gallup poll of 65 countries listed the US as the greatest menace to world peace. None of the countries usually demonized even came close.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I can believe it, and I mainly blame the Republican war hawks. Look at how angry they are that occupation of Afghanistan has come to an end.
@SnowBlack Both parties are war mongers. Always have been. At least 100 years of history proves that. Everyone votes in unison when it comes to raining death and destruction on other countries.

No party has ever voted against a war since WW2.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'll argue that Republicans are the worse of the two. The Democrat history is one of lessening national debt while relieving poverty. The Republican history is the opposite due to military buildup at everyone's expense.
@SnowBlack That is the optics and rhetoric but the practice it is the same. The Democrats always increase military spending and have never said no to a war.
@SnowBlack Take for example Afghanistan. Obama oversaw the largest escalation of the entire war.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I know that, but a Republican president began the occupation and a Democrat president ended it.
@SnowBlack That is totally meaningless. If Trump had won it would have ended under a Republican. Vietnam ended under a Republican. Democrats have started several wars too. It might make Democratic voters feel nice to hold on to these illusions but it is not real.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I stand firm in my analysis. Republican spending is about having more guns, and not about helping people.
@SnowBlack Again, that is all optics and rhetoric. The reality is the two parties are identical on foreign policy.
SnowBlack · 22-25, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow A comparative history of spending proves otherwise.
@SnowBlack Lol. No. Sorry. If that fiction makes you feel better about your vote so be it. But it is disproven by 80 years of history.
@SnowBlack Also trying to make it suddenly about spending is also moving the goalpost.
SnowBlack · 22-25, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You'd have everyone believe that there's no difference in the national and international aims of parties. We know this isn't true due to the arguing, so you're misinformed. Nice try, though.
@SnowBlack Sorry but internationally there is no different. 80 years of history proves that. I don't care about party slogans or speeches and rhetoric. The only people who buy the fallacy that there is a difference are American partisans. Both parties are war mongers and have been for decades. Probably the last anti war president was a Republican, Eisenhower.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Those that are against helping people at home are those wishing to divert more money to military buildup and international aggression. Stop talking about moved goalposts and just follow the money.
@SnowBlack I am not moving goalposts. You are doing that by trying to change the topic from war to budget numbers which is irrelevant.
SnowBlack · 22-25, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You're unable to follow a conversation correctly. I didn't accuse you of that, and maybe you should consider a career in spreading political misinformation.
@SnowBlack I can follow it just fine. You are trying to distract from the uncomfortable truth by trying to make it about budget numbers now.
