what did the leftist originally stood for?

i heard that the left want to express their opinions to everyone and it meant giving everyone the respect for one's opinions...but no offense... the way i see it they want to silence everyone else so only they can be heard.

TRUE OR FALSE?

100% true, freedom of speech only applies when the left likes what you are saying.
Then you are a racist, a woman hater, homophobic
And intolerant.
Just for saying,"I dont agree."
In the 20th and 21st century, the left has murdered hundreds of millions of people who disagreed with them and imprisoned millions.
Whether it is a health care tax or a gulag, the left is always oppressive.

"In the 20th and 21st century, the left has murdered hundreds of millions of people who disagreed with them and imprisoned millions."

Can you offer some examples? The examples of murderous atrocities that spring to mind are the work of right wing fascists like Hitler and Islamo-fascists such as Bin Laden and now the Islamic state.

Liberals, who are actually centre ground, not left wing, are tolerant of a mix of people and their different interests. What they are not tolerant of is those who discriminate and somehow believe they are better than those against whom they discriminate.

Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, People's Rebublic of China(still going strong),North Korea, Pol Pot in Cambodia. Recently in the news Castro's Cuba, the only racist apartheid state left in the world. Where you cojld die for owning a Beatles album.
You speak of Hitler and fascist right wing. Hitler admire Mussolini for his fascim. Which is an economic system where tbe govt has total control of the economy.
The Nazis never achieved that, they were basically socislists with a sick twisted racially based plan for world domination,
When is came to genovide and racial cleansing and anti-semetism, the comrades way outperformed
The Nazis(who we beat into the ground)
Still as is obvious on american campuses and the mainstream media, the left is completed intolerant of opposing view points and when confronted with facts, they just promote falsehoods

Oh the total kills for the left may be up around 200000000 no one knows for sure

@Atrevido1: Hitler used the Nazi party to rise to power but he was most definitely not socialist. Socialism (left) seeks economic equality and equality of opportunity so there is no place for racism, which is a right wing ideology. Hitler was fascist but even Mussolini wasn't so racist and didn't agree with his eugenics policy.

I found this in a book referencing communism so I stand corrected. I had no idea how many were killed.

"The Soviet regime alone killed almost 62 million of its own people, China’s “Great Leap Forward” accounted for 20 to 30 million people and the Khymer Rouge in Cambodia went on a killing rampage that accounted for a quarter of the entire population."

If you mean liberals in the media and on U.S. college campuses, it is as I said before - liberals won't tolerate discrimination, because discrimination is an intolerance of people and diversity. That kind of intolerance (of people - racism, sexism, homophobia etc) is associated with right wing politics.

I agree with most of what you say except the only association made between 'intolerance" and right wing policy is being perpetrated by the left, using falsehoods amd extreme examples of behavior by a very small group of individuals.
The left does discriminate and is very intolerant of anyone who has an e en slightly different viewpoint.
Again I say, the words , 'racist', 'homophobic', 'masogynist' are tools the left uses to try to discredit different points of view. While using falsehoods to maintain emotional outcry.
Freedom, liberty, altruism and truth, are thrown out the window for the sake of equality and diversity. Diversity just mean division to me.

i think the right wings are the ones trying to bring back freedom of speech now, while the left may be a bit more sensitive with some words...
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@Atrevido1: Everyone who has differing viewpoints can argue those. I don't see that as discrimination.

I would also say freedom of speech is more threatened by the right from what i see happening. I read Trump threatened to silence certain aspects of the U.S. media at one point. In the UK the conservative government (right) are the ones threatening freedoms here and silencing opinions they don't like. They have starred dictating what we can and can't see on the internet and are currently seeking to silence and ban the activities of a UK far right group. Whereas I do not identify with far right wing views, I do dislike people's freedoms being threatened and diminished. Any government doing that is really just a dictatorship.

@fazer1k: and here am i also hatin' on totalitarian bullshitry as well...nobody has the right to strip anyone of their individuality as well
