Socialists remind me of bratty teenagers.

Bratty teenager: “I work part-time at McDonald’s and make enough to go out with my friends on the weekend, but my dad who gives me cool stuff for my birthday and pays for a roof over my head makes a hundred times more! It’s not fair! WAAAHHHHH! 😩”

Socialist: “I’m upper middle class and can pay for all of my basic needs, but Jeff Bezos who gives me an Amazon Prime subscription, helps me buy alll my Christmas gifts every year, helps the economy of my entire country, and literally sends people into space makes a million times more! It’s not fair! WAAAHHHHH! 😩”

And Conservatives remind me of those incontinents who still use the phrase ‘ma daddy’ like it’s a badge of honour.

No wonder Republicans and Conservatives alike are drowning in their own misery right now

@Picklebobble2 I’m not even conservative, I’m libertarian. 😉

@RopinTexan and yet couldn’t define socialism on a bet.

Labels are fun aren’t they?
RopinTexan · 31-35, M
@JoeyFoxx You didn’t ask me to define socialism, but it’s more or less a spectrum. The more control the government has over the economy, the more socialist it is. I prefer minimal, if any, government control of the economy.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@RopinTexan that is both vaguely correct and vaguely incorrect.

Why don’t you more specifically define the aspect of socialism that makes you so itchy. So far, you sound a lot like the whiners you complained about in your post.
RopinTexan · 31-35, M
@JoeyFoxx I’d say what bothers me most is the people who complain that rich people spend the money they earned (as opposed to the money given to them by government subsidies) however they like.

People should be allowed to spend the money they earn however they like, as long as they aren’t doing anything illegal. And some illegal things should be legal as well. That goes for everyone, whether they’re rich or poor.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@RopinTexan when the rich use their influence to ensure that legislation makes it easier to keep a larger share of what they’ve earned, do you think that’s ok?
RopinTexan · 31-35, M
@JoeyFoxx I suppose that would depend on how they do so. If they do it by voting, I don’t see anything wrong with that. Everyone is going to vote in ways that will positively influence themselves and their families. Now if they’re going to donate large sums of money to a particular political party, then things get murky. That’s one reason why I dislike political parties.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@RopinTexan yeah… that’s how the rich do it. They get in line with everyone else and vote.

If you believe that, then there’s no much to talk about.
